Acoustic Image Clarus 1 400 IA Amp Head

Bass Northwest is VERY pleased and excited to be selling the new Acoustic Image Clarus I 400 IA amp head. This is a revolutionary new compact and lightweight unit (10x9x2.5 inches & 6 pounds!) that is designed for acoustic and electric instruments. When we listened to this amp, we were completely impressed by it's open and transparent sound.

The Clarus 1 was designed to accurately reproduce the sound of all acoustic and electric instruments without compromise and without the size and weight that has traditionally be associated with high quality amplification. Features such as a notch/high pass filter have been added to increase its versatility. At the heart of the C1 is a powerful Class D switch mode amplifier that runs cool yet delivers up to 300 Watts of clean, full spectrum power into speaker loads as low as 2 ohms.

Unlike other solid state amps, the C1 has a distinct, warm sound, more like a tube amp. In addition, the C1 is not “voiced” like many electronic instrument amps, its frequency response is flat. So, if you use a high quality speaker system, what you hear is your sound of your instrument. The tonal shaping characteristic the four-band EQ is sufficient to overcome room acoustics or to shape your sound without adding noise to the signal.

Other features of the C1 include a parallel effects loop with a return level control, a selectable notch or high pass filter for feedback or “boominess” elimination and a balanced direct out with ground lift to allow connection to a mixing board for PA augmentation or recording. A switch for dual voltage operation (115/230V, 50/60 Hz), a detachable power cord and a padded gig bag with shoulder strap make the unit convenient for the traveling musician.

The C1 is an amplifier for the working musician looking for exceptionally clean, natural sound, with wide frequency response and low noise. Carried in one hand, or in the supplied gig bag, it provides the ultimate in sound reproduction and portability.
